Launch of New Centre 14th November 2008

We are pleased to announce the Launch of the new Centre will take place on the afternoon of Friday 14 November at the Ashworth Laboratories.

Between 2 pm and 5 pm we will organise a series of short overview talks to highlight the different areas of activity and expertise in the centre and to explore the potential for new directions and collaborations. Among those speaking will be Richard Carter, Mark Woolhouse, Nick Savill, Sarah Reece, Rick Maizels, David Gray, Jürgen Haas, Tom Little and Andy Leigh Brown. Representatives of the College and the Wellcome Trust will also be attending, as well as members of the Centre’s Scientific Advisory Board (Richard Grencis, Manchester; Tony Holder, Mill Hill; Jim Kaufman, Cambridge; Angela MacLean, Oxford). Presentations will take place in Ashworth Lecture Theatre 1.

We hope that everyone involved across the broad reseach areas of infectious diseases, immunology and evolutionary biology will be able to attend. The presentations will be a great opportunity to gain an integrated view of activities across the University, and take in the discussion over the potential for new directions and collaborations.

The afternoon’s proceedings will be followed by a reception in the Ashworth Labs, to which all are invited, and which we expect the Principal to open.
